People complain to me regularly about meditation difficulties. A common problem is distracting thoughts. Some who complain have never tried meditation but anticipate problems. People have been made to feel that meditation is a high mystical discipline that only benefits the spiritually advanced. This is false. The truth is anyone can benefit from mediation.
Advanced meditation involves difficult postures and high concentration but at the most basic level mediation is doing nothing. Doing nothing and turning our attention inward is difficult in a society where people are perpetually stimulated and programmed to constantly react. The internal world is alien to people who have been tricked into seeking outside of themselves for comfort.
Don’t Be Intimidated
Don’t be intimidated by terms associated with mediation like ascension, ascended masters, enlightenment and illumination. Instead think non judgmental, simplicity, calm, peace and love.
